Help with career. any nurses online? please help?

I want to become a NICU nurse, and im going to be starting university college (4 years) and i was just wondering what exactly are the steps to becoming a pediatric nurse. i want to be the nurse who takes care of the babies in the NICU, i had an internship at a hospital doing this last year, and i really liked it. are there a series of steps or other levels of nursing that i would have to be before i can be one of those. also how many years would it take for me to become one of those?? thanksssss
