Is religion ist and misogynistic?

I read about about a church in eastern Europe that says women cannot come to church for 40 days after she has given birth, saying something about her being unclean (something about the uterus mixing with blood or whatever). Christianity in eastern Europe praises the Virgin Mary a lot, but I think that because of her ever virginity, why do Christians hate and women so much? do they all want women to be aual virgin mothers?
