Recently diagnosed with having hyperactive thyroid also abnormal liver function, are the two related in any wa?

Recently diagnosed with having hyperactive thyroid and now they are sending to get sonogram of my liver due to "abnormal liver function" and hyper calcium. What is going on? Age: 63 not a drinker or a smoker. Lost the weight in about two months or less. original weight was 150 now 115. Can someone tell me something.
