Why is this happening? When I tighten the screw of the carburettor, the RPM increases!?

When I tighten the idle RPM screw of my Hero Honda Hunk motorcycle's Constant Volume carburettor clockwise, the RPM increases. Also, surprisingly, when I tighten the br fuel intake screw clockwise, the screw becomes tight, but the number of strokes per second increases keeping the engine speed at 1000 RPM, which indicated RICHER fuel mixture. Also acceleration is better now. But If I turn anticlockwise, the screw loosens, and the mixture becomes leaner, and the number of strokes per second decreases and also poorer acceleration which proves LEANER fuel-air mixture. But all guides in the internet say that turning clockwise and tightening the br screw makes fuel air mixture more LEANER? So what is the problem? Experts please guide me.
