Believing in God is the same as believing in santa, the tooth fairy, etc....oh really?

Santa, god, the tooth guy, the monster under people's beds, the boogeyman, etc. There's really the same amount of evidence for any of these things. It's really puzzling to me how you can believe in one of these things (god), but dismiss the rest.
